GB2012RA - Royal Artillery, Woolwich Barracks

This special event station will operate from close to the venue for the Olympic shooting events. It will be located at Woowich Baptist church, with access from New Road Woolwich, not far up the hill from the railway station.
GB2012RA will be active from Saturday 28th July to Sunday 5th August inclusive in support of the Olympic Shooting events and to promote the hobby to passing spectators and visitors who show an interest (similar operation to GB400KJB at Southwark Cathedral last year).
Operating hours are flexible but core time expected to be typically 10am  to 4pm daily.
Set up is 100w HF (80/40/20m) to inverted V dipoles and 25w to colinear on 2m (mostly FM)  from a marquee in the church grounds. Suggest wet wx gear could prove useful!
A 230v mains supply and  toilet facilities are available in church (cafe nearby) and also car parking space off-road.
Volunteer operators fom CVRS members and licensed friends and family are invited to participate for 1/4, 1/2 or full day sessions---2O12L duties permitting of course! ( Please note that the Cray valley ECHO committee are supporting this additional amateur radio station given that there are so few Olympic stations planned in the country). For more information please contact Lawrie G4FAA on 0789 985 5166 or use the Contact Us form on this web site.
Radio amateurs from other South London amateur radio clubs, notably the Darenth Valley and NW Kent clubs, have also been invited to participate in operating the statiion.
So why not PARK the car, send the XYL shopping in the market and WORK THE WORLD all agog for Olympic calls for an hour or two?
Well UK anyway!
